History was made on July 12, 2007 between the Assembly of First Nations then Chief Phil Fontaine and Mike Reid, Local 92 a Memorandum of Understanding was signed. The initial meeting came because of the positive work that had been initiated through the Northwest LECET group that of Ed Hensley and Pat Smutz who were instrumental in creating a partnership video with the Fort Peck Montana Tribes and the Laborers.  We have modeled our mobile unit from the Wyoming Laborers.

The development of the mobile unit is a welcome element in the delivery of effective training to rural First Nation communities and we are pleased to have an innovative approach to meeting some of those needs. This mobile training unit is a new tool that we can add to a mix of solutions we are already employing to expand training opportunities for First Nation people.
